Immunodeficient Animals

Abstract

The creation of targeted mutations in the mouse and other animals has considerable utility in many areas of research in mammalian biology, and animals with well‐defined immune defects provide an excellent model for study of the immune system. Gene targeted knockout mice are widely used in exploring the mechanisms underlying the development and function of the immune system.
