Reproduction in Vertebrates: Overview

Abstract

Vertebrates comprise a diverse collection of animal species. In their reproductive processes they show evolutionary progression from simple shedding of the gametes into the water, as seen in cyclostomes, to the birth of living young seen in most mammals.
