Ischaemic Heart Disease

Abstract

The clinical spectrum of ischaemic heart disease encompasses a variety of acute and chronic conditions including silent ischaemia, chronic stable angina, myocardial infarction, ischaemic cardiomyopathy and sudden cardiac death. Its pathogenesis and treatment is the subject of much ongoing research and debate.

Keywords: atherosclerosis; myocardial infarction; congestive heart failure; coronary artery disease; thrombolysis
