Isolation of DNA from Agarose Gels using Agarase

Abstract

One of the major advantages of low gelling temperature agarose is that it is easy to recover DNA and RNA from the gel by melting it and extracting it with phenol. This basic procedure may be improved by including an agarase digestion step.
