Predictive genetic tests are deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) tests that predict the future of an asymptomatic person in regard to a specific disease that runs in the family. They require an adequate multidisciplinary counselling approach because the test result has consequences for the psychological well-being of those tested and their families.
