Proteomics: A Molecular Scanner in Medicine

Abstract

Proteomics is the large‐scale identification and characterization of proteins and posttranslational modifications. Several proteomic methodologies, especially microarrays and mass spectrometry, offer the promise of use in a variety of clinical settings.

Keywords: mass spectrometry; genomics; posttranslational modifications; diagnostic markers; chips
