Stahl, Georg Ernst

Georg Ernst Stahl (1659–1734) was a German physician and chemist, whose animism exerted an enormous influence on European medical culture for over a century. In his doctrine, the soul fulfils the role of an ideal repository of information acting on the body in such a way that its physiopathological functions are carried out.
