Stem Cells

Stem cells are cells that are capable of both self-renewal and differentiation. They offer the potential of an unlimited source of cells that can be used for drug discovery and gene discovery studies, and have been used in trials to treat diseases. The selected articles describe stem cells, their uses in medical therapies, and the ethical issues surrounding the cloning of organisms from stem cells.
