Neurodegeneration and Neurodegenerative Disorders

A progressive loss in the structure or function of neurons, including neuronal death, termed ‘neurodegeneration’, covers a variety of molecular and cellular processes and result in a number of neurodegenerative diseases, including Huntingdon’s, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases. Research, especially on a molecular level, is beginning to reveal similarities in the neurodegenerative process in such diseases, that could lead to improvements in therapeutic approach.
