Professor Bram Noble specialises in Environmental Assessment and Resource Management at the University of Saskatchewan. He gained his PhD in Environmental Assessment at Memorial University, Canada in 2002. He is associated with the International Association for Impact Assessment (IAIA) and the Canada Water Network. He also serves in an editorial capacity for a number of Environmental journals.
 
Professor Noble’s current research projects reflect his particular interest in environmental impact assessment and resource development, focusing on the frameworks, methods and applications of strategic assessment. Specifically he has looked at the role of strategic environmental assessment in Arctic oil and gas exploration; the international arrangements for watershed-based cumulative effects assessment and management; the effectiveness of Canadian environmental impact assessment; and the development of the ‘Healthy River Ecosystem Assessment System’, which assesses and adaptively manages the cumulative effects of man-made developments on Canadian freshwaters.
